In this one-hour webinar, Christine Domer, General Manager of Smithers Rapra’s chemical and physical testing laboratories, will deliver a primer on basic mechanisms of carbon black and mineral fillers in rubber. Christine will cover basic filler characteristics and how they impact rubber reinforcement and compound properties: 
o Particle size and surface area 
o Particle shape and structure 
o Surface activity/chemistry 

Rubber-filler interactions will be reviewed, along with how these interactions effect viscoelastic properties. Christine will also present various filler comparisons in rubber compounds and their effects on processing and final compound physical properties.
